Yangge Family Folk Culture Tourism Scenic Area

The Yangge Family Folk Culture Tourism Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Yangge Family Folk Culture Tourism Scenic Area is located in Zhangyang Village in the southeastern part of Yanghu Township and is widely renowned as the birthplace of Guzi Yangge in the county. To develop distinctive rural cultural tourism, Lixiang Style Tourism Development (Shandong) Co., Ltd. has formulated development plans for characteristic rural tourism and red tourism, establishing projects such as the Guzi Yangge Folk Exhibition Hall, a folk cuisine street, orchard picking, countryside experiences, and Guzi Yangge experiences. These truly allow visitors to “prosper in the farmhouse, learn in the farmhouse, enjoy in the farmhouse, and appreciate beauty in the farmhouse.”

Major attractions at the Yangge Family Folk Culture Tourism Scenic Area include: Lingxiao Pavilion, Geng Dashitou Clay Sculptures, the Guzi Yangge Square, and the Hundred Herbs Garden sightseeing area. The scenic area integrates distinctive rural tourism, red study tourism, and folk culture tourism.

One of the highlights of the Yangge Family Folk Culture Tourism Scenic Area: Lingxiao Pavilion is the largest ancient architectural complex in Yangxin County and surrounding cities and counties. It was first built during the Ming Dynasty’s Wanli era, rebuilt in the fourth year of the Kangxi reign (1665), and renovated again in the seventh year of the Republic of China (1918). Traditional temple fairs are held annually on the 16th day of the first lunar month, the 19th day of the second lunar month, and the 18th day of the fourth lunar month. Visitors from Huimin, Shanghe, Laoling, Qingyun, Yanshan, and Wudi come here for the fairs, sightseeing, opera and acrobatics performances, Yangge dancing, stilt walking, storytelling, and street performances—creating a lively and bustling atmosphere. The pavilion is open to the public free of charge year-round and welcomes every visitor with quality service.

Another highlight of the Yangge Family Folk Culture Tourism Scenic Area: the development of the site of the New Fourth Army “Veterans’ and Martyrs’ Cemetery,” road paving, greening, and beautification within the village, construction of sewage pipelines, renovation of old and dangerous houses, collective heating using new biomass pellets, and the upgrading of dry toilets.

The fourth highlight of the Yangge Family Folk Culture Tourism Scenic Area: the scenic area has established five large performance teams— a grand 100-person Yangge team, a women’s Yangge team, a children’s Yangge team, a stage Yangge team, and a waist drum team. All these Yangge teams conduct their daily training within the scenic area. The Guzi Yangge performances are grand and awe-inspiring. Visitors can also personally experience Yangge performances, join the 100-person Yangge team, and immerse themselves in the performance. Meanwhile, the scenic area’s “Hundred Herbs Garden” is nearing completion, offering visitors an even richer sightseeing experience.

The third highlight of the Yangge Family Folk Culture Tourism Scenic Area: the cultural leisure and sightseeing facilities featuring Geng Dashitou’s clay sculptures and the Farming Culture Museum. The Yangge Family cultural tourism development project primarily builds upon Lingxiao Pavilion and centers around the distinctive Guzi Yangge. Leveraging the influence of notable figures from Yangxin, the project allows visitors to pick fresh fruits and vegetables in the picking gardens while sightseeing. The project may continue to add various cultural, leisure, and entertainment elements in the future, striving to meet the diverse needs of visitors.
