Dahu Kou

Dahu Kou is located 70 kilometers north of Wudi County, where the Zhangwei New River meets the sea. It borders the vast Bohai Sea to the north and lies west of the under-construction Huanghua Port—one of the two national cross-century projects. This area is home to one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Wudi, known as the “Pastoral Song of the North Sea.” It features some of the most pristine natural landscapes—two shell sand belts with reserves of up to 360 million tons, presenting a spectacular sight.

The Daku Kou area enjoys moist air, a pleasant climate, beautiful scenery, and bubbling springs. Over 40 varieties of Chinese medicinal herbs grow along the sandy dikes, filling the air with a refreshing herbal fragrance. Here you can find some of the most pristine natural landscapes—two shell sand belts with reserves of up to 360 million tons, presenting a spectacular sight.

Strolling along the summer beach, you may spot wild animals roaming and seabirds playing. Gazing out at the boundless sea, you might catch a glimpse of the fleeting mirage-like “sea city,” solitary sails in the distance, and numerous boats racing across the water. Currently, a 70-kilometer coastal highway around the Bohai Sea is under construction, and a maritime amusement park integrating entertainment, hunting, tourism, and fishing will soon be unveiled. The Daku (Daku Kou)–Ji (Jinan) Highway leads directly to Daku Kou. The best seasons to visit are spring, summer, and autumn.
