The main hall of the Wudi County Yamen

The county yamen’s main hall is located about 100 meters northeast of the cross street in the old town area of Wudi County and is well preserved. It was built in 1370 (the third year of the Hongwu reign in the Ming Dynasty) and rebuilt in 1558 (the 37th year of the Jiajing reign in the Ming Dynasty). The main hall stands on a two-axis brick foundation, faces south, and features a single-eave hard mountain–style brick-and-timber structure. It has four beams and eight pillars, blue bricks and green tiles, square bricks paving the floor, painted wind boards aligned under the eaves, red pillars with lattice windows, and crimson doors with green panels—presenting a majestic appearance. In April 1986, it was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit. In January 2009, it was announced as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit by the People’s Government of Binzhou City.
