Tomb of Gu Zhongxu

The Tomb of Gu Zhongxu is a cultural relic protection site of Wudi County.

The Tomb of Gu Zhongxu is located on the west bank of Xingfu River, about 500 meters south of Fulu Street in Wudi County. It covers an area of roughly one mu, with a mound about 2.5 meters high. Gu Zhongxu was from Panjia Village, Shuiwan Town, present-day Wudi County. He was born in 1525 during the Ming Dynasty, passed the imperial examination in the 23rd year of the Jiajing reign (1544), and eventually rose to the position of Minister of War. Notably, during his tenure defending Shanhaiguan, he achieved outstanding administrative results. Throughout his life, he was known for his integrity and clean governance, earning a strong reputation. In July 2011, the Tomb of Gu Zhongxu was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit by the People’s Government of Wudi County.
