German-style building at No. 394 Jingsi Road

The German-style building at No. 394 Jingsi Road is a cultural relic protection unit of Jinan City.

It was the former building of the Provincial Construction Department. This three-story Western-style building faces south and has a rectangular floor plan, with a total of three floors. It is 17.5 meters long from east to west and 14.9 meters wide from north to south. The structure is made of brick and stone, with a stone foundation. The entrance is located in the middle of the north and south facades. The main northern entrance features a porch supported by four Western-style columns. The southern side of the building has a balcony with an arched column design, below which there is a horizontal brick railing, along with “凸”-shaped windows. The east and west facades also feature “凸”-shaped windows on the vertical sections near the southern side, while the rest are rectangular windows. Inside, each floor has a corridor along the entrance direction, with two rooms on each side, all featuring wooden flooring and staircases. The staircase is located at the southern end of the corridor and is a double-flight staircase. The entire exterior facade is decorated with plaster rendering. On December 20, 2013, it was announced by the Jinan Municipal Government as part of the fourth batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units.
