Former Site of the Japanese Military Police on Wei 9th Road

The former site of the Japanese Military Police on Wei 9th Road is a cultural relic protection unit of Shandong Province.

The former site of the Japanese Military Police on Wei 9th Road is located at No. 126 and No. 134, Wei 9th Road, Huaiyin District. The entire structure is built with mushroom stone and was originally the headquarters building of the Japanese military police. It now serves as staff dormitories for the Provincial Installation Company, with property rights held by the Huaiyin District Housing Authority. The floors are all wooden, featuring a tatami-style layout typical of Japanese architecture, and the basement is very deep. According to residents, the street in front of the building was originally Wandestreet, wide enough for large trucks to pass, and there used to be a “Wandestreet Stele” about 1.7–1.8 meters high. The current whereabouts of the stele are unknown. On December 20, 2013, it was announced by the Jinan Municipal Government as part of the fourth batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units, and on June 23, 2015, it was listed by the Shandong Provincial People's Government as part of the fifth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units.
