Fuchengxin West Building is a cultural relic protection unit of Shandong Province.

Fuchengxin West Building is located at No. 369, Jinger Road, Huaiyin District, Jinan City. Constructed in the first year of the Xuantong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1909), it faces south with its back to the north. The main structure is built with a combination of brick, stone, and wood, featuring a flush-gable roof with large tiles. The walls are made of mixed brick and stone plastered surfaces, with some gable and pediment sections constructed from blue bricks, while residential and office buildings are built with red bricks. The current floor plan largely retains its original layout. The main structures are two-story buildings that form several enclosed courtyards surrounded by architectural enclosures, with upper floors featuring cantilevered eave corridors that intersect all around. The buildings on the southern side fronting the street function as shops. The primary functions of the buildings include residence, office work, storage of valuables and general goods, as well as commercial trade. The west building has an “L”-shaped floor plan, measuring 36 meters east-west and 40 meters north-south, covering a land area of 1,030 square meters and a building area of 1,200 square meters. Fuchengxin West Building is a representative modern structure within Jinan’s commercial port area, characterized primarily by traditional Chinese architectural style integrated with selective use of Western architectural elements. In terms of scale, construction period, craftsmanship, and materials used, it stands out among similar surviving buildings in Jinan and holds significant historical, artistic, and scientific value. On October 10, 2013, it was designated as part of the fourth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the Shandong Provincial Government.
