Jinger Road Fuchengxin East Store

Jinger Road Fuchengxin East Store is a cultural relic protection unit of Shandong Province.

Fuchengxin East Store is located at No. 363, Jinger Road, Wuligou Subdistrict, Huaiyin District, Jinan City. Constructed in the first year of the Xuantong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1909), it faces south and is mainly built with a brick, stone, and timber structure. The roof is a flush gable and hip style with large tiles, the walls are a mix of brick and stone with rendered surfaces, and some gable and decorative sections are of blue brick, while residential and office areas are of red brick. The existing building maintains much of its original layout, with most structures being two stories high. They form several enclosed courtyards surrounded by buildings, and the upper floor features cantilevered eaves and corridors that intersect around the perimeter. The southern section of the building, facing the street, was used as shops. The main functions of the buildings included residence, office work, storage of valuables and general goods, and commercial trade. The East Store stretches 35.7 meters from east to west and 34.0 meters from north to south, covering a land area of 1,214 square meters with a total floor space of 1,582 square meters. Fuchengxin East Store is a representative modern building complex in Jinan’s commercial district that retains a traditional architectural style while incorporating Western elements. In terms of scale, construction period, craftsmanship, and materials used, it stands out among similar surviving structures in Jinan, holding significant historical, artistic, and scientific value. On October 10, 2013, it was designated as part of the fourth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.
