Diaoyutai Scenic Area

China has ten famous Diaoyutai (Fishing Terrace) sites, the first of which is the Jiang Taigong Diaoyutai located 10 kilometers west of Nancheng.

In the late Shang Dynasty, King Zhou was debauched and tyrannical, and he ordered the construction of the luxurious Deer Terrace. The project was massive, causing great hardship to the people. Jiang Ziya (also known as Lü Shang), who served as a minor official, boldly remonstrated against the project. Furious, King Zhou ordered his arrest. Filled with indignation, Jiang Ziya fled and went into seclusion in this area. Here, surrounded by cascading waters, reeds, and birds, Jiang Ziya spent his days fishing. Later, he was summoned by King Wen of Zhou, assisted King Wu in overthrowing the Shang Dynasty, and was enfeoffed as the Duke of Qi. This place came to be known as Diaoyutai.

Transportation: Take a bus from Cangzhou Long-Distance Bus Station to Nancheng County, then get off at the destination.
