Niuyangtun Site

The Niuyangtun Site is a cultural tourism attraction.

Niuyangtun is located 0.5 kilometers southwest of Dulín Town, Cang County, and 15 kilometers west of Cangzhou City. The site is situated southeast of Niuyangtun Village, about 20 meters from the village. Half a kilometer to the east is the former course of the Hutuo River, and half a kilometer to the north is the Canghe Highway.

During soil extraction by villagers, a bronze tripod and bronze sword (legend also says knives and coins were once unearthed) were dug up at a depth of 5 to 6 meters below the surface, along with stone knives, stone axes, oracle bones, horn plows, as well as li tripod feet, dou vessel handles, and gray rope-patterned pottery shards collected on-site. Scattered across the surface were rope-patterned bricks, large pottery fragments, white-glazed porcelain pieces (with flat bases and ring feet), and Kaiyuan Tongbao coins.

The soil extraction trench is 300 meters long from north to south. This section is 15 meters wide, while the southern section is 80 meters wide. To the west, there remains an ancient tomb with a diameter of 10 meters and a mound height of 5 meters, covering a total area of 30,000 square meters. Judging from the collected pottery shard samples, the cultural layer is quite rich, spanning from the Shang and Zhou dynasties down to the Tang and Song dynasties, holding significant historical value.
