Longshan River Water Conservancy Scenic Area, Feicheng City

The Longshan River Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a national-level water conservancy scenic area.

The Longshan River Water Conservancy Scenic Area is located in Feicheng City, Tai'an, built along the Longshan River that runs through the city, and is classified as an urban river-lake type water conservancy scenic area. The scenic area spans 9.2 square kilometers, with water bodies covering 4 square kilometers.

The scenic area stretches across the entire urban area of Feicheng, spanning 7.8 km in length, and converges with the Kangwang River. Leveraging the water diversion project from the Wen River into the city, comprehensive management works were carried out on the urban section of the Longshan River, including riverbed dredging, channel widening, and riverbank reinforcement. By adopting a strategy that combines "diversion and storage," the area features a rich and diverse relationship between water and land, and includes water conservancy structures such as bridges, ship locks, and rubber dams. With the natural ecological environment along the riverbanks as the base, the historical and cultural heritage of Feicheng as the canvas, and activity spaces such as riverside parks, squares, cultural and commercial streets, landscape architecture complexes, open-air museums, and leisure greenways as the brushstrokes, the scenic area follows the principle of achieving sustainable ecological and economic development, and embodies the spirit of showcasing a new urban image and cultural identity. It presents a high-quality, highly efficient, healthy, and vibrant urban waterfront shared space. Key zones include the natural ecological zone, leisure and entertainment zone, cultural exhibition zone, and economic-commercial zone. Through comprehensive development of the Longshan River, the scenic area integrates outstanding natural and cultural resources, promotes water conservancy tourism, ensures balanced economic and ecological development, and creates an open space symbolic of Feicheng’s identity, contributing to the vision of building “China’s Peach Capital, the Peach Blossom Paradise of the World.”

Approved as the 11th batch of provincial-level water conservancy scenic areas in 2014, and as the 15th batch of national-level water conservancy scenic areas in 2015.
