Liuli Temple Battle Memorial Hall

The Liuli Temple Battle Memorial Hall is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism site.

The Liuli Temple Town Battle Memorial Hall was originally the Xumiao Martyrs' Cemetery, built in 1946. The cemetery faces south and measures 100 meters from north to south and 85 meters from east to west, covering an area of approximately 12.3 mu. It mainly consists of a memorial hall, burial grounds, and a stele pavilion. The eastern part of the cemetery grounds is the martyrs' burial site, which is 39.6 meters long from north to south and 29 meters wide from east to west. The graves of the martyrs are arranged in eight rows from east to west, with a row spacing of 6 meters and an interval of 4 meters between each grave, all being earthen pit vertical shaft tombs.

About 30 meters north of the burial ground is the Martyrs' Memorial Hall. It is five bays wide, measuring 17.6 meters in length and 6.94 meters in width. The interior of the memorial hall displays the glorious deeds of the heroes and photos of the people commemorating the martyrs.

Fifteen meters south of the burial ground is the stele pavilion, which measures 2.45 meters from north to south, 2.42 meters from east to west, and is about 3.80 meters high. The pavilion is built with blue bricks, has a pyramidal roof, doors on all sides, and is covered with green glazed tiles. Inside the pavilion stands an inscription from 1946, bearing the words of Xu Hansan, then magistrate of Chiping County, and Zhang Guang, the district chief. The Liuli Temple Martyrs' Cemetery is one of the symbols of the Chinese people's unity in resisting Japan and also serves as an important site for patriotic education for future generations.

The Liuli Temple Martyrs' Cemetery was established in the fifth lunar month of 1946 by the Anti-Japanese Office of Chiping’s Seventh District. It houses the remains of 48 martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the War of Resistance against Japan in 1939.
