Ancient Yangping County is a cultural tourism attraction.

Ten kilometers west of the county town along Provincial Highway 329, on the east bank of the Wei River, lies Donggu Ancient City — the first ancient city of Guan County. Donggu Ancient City has a long history. During the Spring and Autumn period, the territory of Guanshi was located here; in the Han Dynasty, it served as the seat of Guantao County; during the Northern and Southern Dynasties, it became Yangping Commandery, and was later renamed Maozhou. Since the Wei River flowed past the city, it historically served as a canal port and was once a bustling hub. The ruins of Donggu Ancient City are located in Donggu Village, stretching 1,500 meters from north to south and 1,000 meters from east to west, covering an area of 1.5 million square meters.

Today’s Donggu is traversed north-south by National Highway 106 (Beijing–Kaifeng), and east-west by the Jihan Railway, the Jiguan Expressway, and National Highway 329 (Rongcheng–Lanzhou). To the west of the town, three grand bridges span the Wei River side-by-side: the Qiyi Highway Bridge, the Jihan Railway Bridge, and the Jiguan Expressway Bridge, creating a spectacular sight.
