Qingquan River Scenic Area

The Qingquan River Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Qingquan River is located in Guan County, Shandong Province. Its upper reaches connect to the Zhangwei River, while its lower reaches flow into the Majia River. Guan County lies at the junction of Hebei, Shandong, and Henan provinces, serving as the western gateway to Shandong. To meet residents’ needs for leisure and recreation, 18 small sunken public squares have been built, interconnected by garden paths 1.5–2 meters wide. The riverbanks of the Qingquan River have formed a green landscape corridor spanning 663,000 square meters, creating a ring-shaped urban water park area where the river and lakes are interconnected.

The mirror-like waters of the Qingquan River reflect rows of weeping willows, sunlight dancing on the surface in shimmering ripples, while pleasure boats glide gently across. Thanks to restoration efforts, the river water has become clear, flowers, grasses, and trees have been planted along the banks, and the surrounding air has become fresher.

As a traditional agricultural county, Guan County has relatively weak fiscal revenue and lagging urban development. In recent years, with economic growth, the outdated urban infrastructure has increasingly fallen short of development needs. To change this situation, the county has implemented a series of people-oriented urban construction projects based on the stage characteristics of socioeconomic development and new trends in urbanization. Despite limited financial resources, the county has intensified urban development efforts, focusing on improving the living and working environment for residents. Among these projects, the comprehensive renovation of the Qingquan River has become a highlight of urban development.
