Tomb of Zhang Linghuang

The Tomb of Zhang Linghuang is a cultural heritage site protected by Liaocheng City.

The Tomb of Zhang Linghuang is located west of Wangying Village, Zhangqiu Town, Yanggu County. It dates back to the Qing Dynasty and is categorized as an ancient tomb.

In January 2003, the Tomb of Zhang Linghuang was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site under the protection of Liaocheng City.

Zhang Linghuang lived during the Kangxi and Yongzheng reigns of the Qing Dynasty. His courtesy name was Biyu, and he was a native of Zhangqiu Town, Yanggu County. From a young age, he was diligent in his studies and passionate about reading, eventually gaining a reputation for his literary talent in the region. In 1709 (the 48th year of the Kangxi reign), he passed the imperial examination and was appointed as a Zhongshu Sheren (an official in the imperial secretariat). In 1721 (the 60th year of the Kangxi reign), he served as an imperial censor of the Shandong Circuit. In the early years of the Yongzheng reign, he was promoted to the position of assistant prefect of Shuntian Prefecture (present-day Shenyang). When cheating was discovered during the imperial examinations, Zhang Linghuang investigated and punished the offenders according to the law. Soon after, he was promoted to the position of magistrate of the capital region. In 1725 (the 3rd year of the Yongzheng reign), he was transferred to serve as the Minister of the Court of Judicial Review, and shortly thereafter was appointed as the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Personnel while continuing to hold his role in the capital region.
