Neiqiu Queshan

The Queshan Scenic Area is located to the west of the Bianque Temple and is named after the famous physician Bianque, who was enfeoffed here. It is also called Taiziyan (Prince Rock) because during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, the crown prince of the Guo State recovered from illness thanks to Bianque, became his disciple, and followed him to this mountain to gather herbs. As a result, the area preserves relics such as the Prince Cave and the Prince Tower.

The most remarkable natural feature of Queshan is the “White Jade Belt.” On the steep cliffs at an altitude of 660–680 meters on the eastern slope, a horizontal intrusive rock layer composed of white quartz and feldspar, stretching over a thousand meters in length and up to ten-plus meters in thickness, is exposed around the mountain. From a distance, the dark mountains look like a painting, while the white band winds around the cliffs, forming a rare natural wonder and geological spectacle known as the “Jade Belt Amid Dark Mountains.”

Tourism development at Queshan began in the early 1990s, starting with the construction of hiking trails on the eastern slope. In 1993, after the formulation of the “Taiziyan Scenic Area Tourism Development Master Plan,” subsequent projects included the restoration of structures such as the Zhongtianmen (White Jade Pavilion), Nantianmen, the Goddess of Queshan Shrine, Yuhuang Pavilion, and Yuhuang Tower, as well as the installation of a slideway and the construction of a road connecting the Bianque Temple to the parking lot at the mountain’s base. Queshan and the nearby Bianque Temple complement each other’s strengths, together forming the premier tourism attraction of Neiqiu County.

Transportation by Bus: Take a bus from Neiqiu County to Nan Sai Township, then transfer to a minibus to Shen Tou Village to reach the scenic area.

Driving Directions: Drive from the Jing-Shen Expressway exit at Neiqiu, head west through Neiqiu County, follow the Nei-Bai Highway past Liulin Village, and continue toward Shen Tou Village.
