Neiqiu Queshan Lake National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Queshan Lake gets its name from the lake that encircles Queshan Mountain. Legend has it that Bian Que, a renowned physician of the pre-Qin period, was buried here after his death, which is how “Queshan” (Magpie Mountain) got its name. Neiqiu Queshan Lake National Wetland Park is located in the transition area between the plain and hilly regions of Neiqiu County.

The wetland covers an area of 158.61 hectares.

The wetland park is located within Liulin Town in the transition zone between the plain and hilly areas of Neiqiu County, Xingtai City, Hebei Province. The wetland is centered around the Majia Reservoir (Queshan Lake), a medium-sized hydraulic engineering project on the upper reaches of the Ma River, which is part of the Ziya River system in the Haihe River basin, and extends to the upstream river channel and floodplains. It stretches from the east spillway of Majia Reservoir in the east to the Hongmen Bridge in Shenjiadong Village, Liulin Town, in the west. The northern and southern boundaries are defined by the riverbanks, with the widest point being 1,500 meters and the narrowest 50 meters. It extends 9.3 kilometers from east to west, covering a total area of 300.16 hectares, of which 158.61 hectares are wetlands, accounting for a wetland ratio of 52.8%.

The construction of the park spanned five years, from 2016 to 2020, and was divided into two phases: the near-term phase over three years (2016–2018) and the long-term phase over two years (2019–2020). The estimated total investment for the park construction project was 45.0234 million yuan.

This wetland park is unique, representative, and of significant ecological conservation value within the Taihang Mountain range. It plays an important role in water purification, water source conservation, maintaining ecosystem balance, and improving urban environments.

The wetland holds significant scientific research value as a habitat tailored to local conditions; it has high social value as a base for science education and outreach; it offers rich aesthetic value as a romantic poetic dwelling; and it possesses important cultural value as a historic and humanistic site where the people of Yan and Zhao have built an ecological and flood prevention barrier.
