Huishan Auditorium is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Jiangxi Province.

Huishan Auditorium (1968)

Huishan Auditorium is located in Huishan Village, Shunde Township, Hukou County. This building was originally constructed as the ancestral hall of the Qu family during the Qing Dynasty under Emperor Kangxi by Qu Jinmei, the Governor-General of Guangxi, who came to Huishan Village in Shunde Township, Hukou, in search of his ancestors' roots. During the Cultural Revolution in 1968, villagers demolished the Qu family ancestral hall and reused the original building materials to reconstruct the current brick-and-wood structure—now serving as the village office of Huishan Village.

Qu Jinmei served as a surveillance censor before being appointed Governor of Guangxi in the 18th year of the Shunzhi era (1661), holding the position from 1661 to 1663. In the second year of Emperor Kangxi’s reign (1663–1665), he was appointed Governor-General of Guangxi. During his tenure as Governor-General, he traveled to Yazi Pond in Huishan Village, Shunde Township, Hukou, to explore his ancestry and donated funds to build the Qu family ancestral hall. The building covered a total area of 1,300 square meters, consisting of three sections in a single row, forming an enclosed courtyard complex, with a courtyard located in the second section. The current village office auditorium was built in 1968, facing south with five bays, utilizing materials from the original structure to form a brick-and-wood building, covering an area of 450 square meters.

Huishan Auditorium is a product of the political movements during the Cultural Revolution. Its prominent slogans on the façade and the stage, podium, and sound equipment inside all convey the atmosphere of the political campaigns of that era. It is one of the few surviving representative cultural heritage sites from the Cultural Revolution period in our county, holding significant historical value.

Construction Control Zone: The boundary is based on the protected area, extending 3 meters outward to the east and north, and 10 meters outward to the south, while sharing the same boundary to the west as the protected area. Maximum construction height: 10 meters. Area: 468.9 square meters.
