Dragon Palace Cave

Dragon Palace Cave is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Located at the foot of Wulong Mountain in the southwest of Pengze County, Dragon Palace Cave is a mud limestone cave filled with a vast array of uniquely shaped, glittering stalactites that resemble the Dragon King’s underwater palace depicted in *Journey to the West*, hence its name.

Today, the cave features a majestic natural stone gate in front, while inside it is divided into sections such as the Front Hall, Corridor, East Palace, West Palace, Drum Music Hall, and Main Palace. Each section displays various stalactite formations, including Sea Immortal Stars, Swimming Dragons, Sea Turtles, the Ruyi Jingu Bang (Heavenly Pillar), Dragon Pool Waterfall, and Palace Lantern Murals.

Including Yuhu Cave, the total length exceeds 2,700 meters, with over 350 meters featuring year-round flowing streams where visitors can take boat tours. The cave maintains fresh air, bright lighting, and a constant temperature of 18°C all year round—cool in summer and warm in winter. Nearby attractions include Xianzhen Rock, Luosi Mountain, and the cave-top waterfall. Dragon Palace Cave is a natural underground art palace and has been officially designated as a nationally open scenic area.

By Car:

1. Visitors from Jiangsu or Anhui may consider the route: Anqing – Dongzhi – Pengze – Dingshan – Dragon Palace Cave

2. Visitors from other provinces may consider the route: Jiujiang – Hukou – Dingshan – Dragon Palace Cave

3. From downtown Jiujiang: Take G105 – Hangrui Expressway – Shizhongshan Toll Station (Hukou) – Niujiumian Line – Dragon Palace Cave

By Public Transport:

1. At Jiujiang Bus Station, buy a bus ticket from Jiujiang to Pengze (get off at Dingshan), then transfer to a minibus from Pengze to Tianhong

2. At the long-distance bus station, take the bus from Jiujiang to Yangzi—this bus passes through Dragon Palace Cave (Tianhong Township) without needing to transfer, going via Hukou County – Liusi – Dingshan – Taiping – Tianhong
