Zhaoojigou

Zhaoojigou is located in the northeastern part of the county, on the southwestern side of the Dahao Mountain Range, within the eastern ridge of Fengshuling. During the Second Revolutionary Civil War period, it served as the headquarters for the 9th and 10th squadrons of the Northern Jiangxi and Southern Anhui Guerrilla Brigade under the leadership of Fang Zhimin and Shao Shiping, as well as the central county committee of the seven counties including Pengze, Poyang, Duchang, Dongliu, Zhide, Wangjiang, and Susong. In the northwest of the village, close to the mountainside, there is a tile-roofed house built with blue bricks and wood, which was once the office of the headquarters and the central county committee. Bullet marks can still be seen on its walls. In mid-June 1934 (the 23rd year of the Republic of China), with approval from the Northern Jiangxi Special Committee, the Pengze Central County Committee was publicly established in Qiaoting Village, Haoshan, within the county, and relocated to Zhaoojigou in November. At that time, the enemy was launching the fifth large-scale encirclement campaign against the Central Soviet Area. The Red Army persisted in guerrilla warfare in the border region between Jiangxi and Anhui, with Zhaoojigou serving as the command center. Under the leadership and direction of the central county committee, the military achieved one victory after another. The training and preparation of cadres and troops, centered around the land revolution, also proved highly effective.
