Winding Stream of Hengxi

The clear, shallow waters of Hengxi are often compared to those of the Orchid Pavilion. Red fish leap in the waves, while serene birds alight on the banks. A ribbon of green flows down from the ravine, reflecting the verdant hues of countless peaks. The ceaseless sound, like a zither’s melody, keeps scholars awake all night.

Hengxi refers to the stream that runs through the county town from Mount Cen. Today, beside the small streams to the east and west of the county sports field, there is a stone inscription reading “Winding Stream of Hengxi.”
