The Site of Jiawu City in Cixian County is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Jiawu City Site

The Site of Jiawu City is located in Jiawu Village on the north bank of the Zhang River, south of Cixian County. Before the Tang Dynasty, it was called Wucheng, and was renamed Jiawu City after the Song Dynasty. The site holds significant geographical importance and has been a strategic military location throughout history. During the Three Kingdoms period, after Cao Cao defeated Yuan Shao and occupied Ye City, he frequently operated in this area, using it as a base for training military officers. The ancient city has a parallelogram layout; apart from the southern wall and the southern section of the eastern wall, which were destroyed by the Zhang River, most of the structure still remains. Excavated in 1958, the site yielded architectural components such as roof tiles and tube tiles, as well as daily-use items like bean pots, jars, and basins. Based on these artifacts, it is believed to be an ancient site from the Warring States period, with subsequent additions, modifications, or expansions during and after the Han Dynasty, and continued use over time.

On May 25, 2006, it was designated as part of the sixth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units by the State Council.
