Dongshi Mountain in Ningde

Dongshi Mountain in Ningde is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Dongshi Mountain stands 2 kilometers east of Zherong County and covers an area of 25 square kilometers. As the main peak of the Taimu Mountain Range, it rises 1,480 meters above sea level and boasts a majestic presence. The mountain features granite landforms with uniquely shaped rock formations and caves, including Potao Rock, Horse Head Rock, Elephant Trunk Rock, Thousand Bamboo Shoot Stones, Ten Thousand Book Rocks, Pillar Supporting Heaven, Jade Screen Cave, Spirit Peak Cave, and “Immortal Sawing Board.” At the foot of the mountain, the Longbing Waterfall has a drop of over 100 meters and a width of 6 meters, presenting a spectacular sight.

In 1986, Professor Wu Weiping from the University of Bridgeport in the United States was amazed during his visit to Dongshi Mountain and inscribed the words: “Majestic beyond Taimu, a wonder of the world.”
