Houlong Grand Canyon

Houlong is home to a grand canyon acclaimed by experts as the "Xishuangbanna of Eastern Fujian." The canyon stretches 25.6 kilometers in length, with the widest point reaching over 100 meters and the narrowest still spanning dozens of meters. Towering peaks rise abruptly along both banks, creating dramatic scenery and breathtaking views. Lush greenery covers the canyon year-round, while spring brings a riot of wildflowers in vibrant colors, making it a vibrant paradise teeming with flora and fauna. This area was once a key transportation route connecting Eastern Fujian to Northern Fujian, and along the canyon, well-preserved ancient covered bridges, paths, pavilions, fortresses, and traditional houses can still be found.
