Qinglan Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a national water conservancy scenic area.

Qinglan Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area is located in Zherong County, Ningde City, and is built around Qinglan Reservoir. The scenic area covers an area of 19.34 square kilometers, including 0.71 square kilometers of water area, and is a reservoir-type water conservancy scenic area. The water in the area is clear with Grade I water quality; it has a high content of negative oxygen ions and an air quality index of Grade I. The forest coverage rate is 86%, and the comprehensive management rate of soil erosion reaches as high as 96%. The area boasts abundant flora and fauna resources and enjoys an excellent ecological environment.

Qinglan Reservoir was a key water conservancy project in the Ningde region during the Eighth Five-Year Plan period. It is a medium-sized water conservancy project that integrates water supply, power generation, and irrigation. To protect the water environment of the scenic area, the management authorities have carried out comprehensive improvements in aspects such as sewage treatment, flood control and drainage, river dredging, bank revetment management, and ecological greening. They advocate for eco-friendly sightseeing, and the water quality of the scenic area has consistently maintained Class I standards. The scenic area centers around the reservoir lake surface and its tributary water bodies, with terrestrial landscape interfaces extending around the lake. It includes the Yuanyangtou Stream water conservation area, Zhujialou Stream valley, Chouling Longevity Village, Wan Yao Village, Yuanyang Grassland, and Qukeng Forest Farm wetland reserve, forming a landscape pattern of “one lake encircling two streams, two villages, and two farms.”

Relying on the man-made Qinglan Lake and its tributaries, and centered around mountains, water, forests, and grasslands, with a theme of longevity and wellness culture, Qinglan Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area develops its terrestrial landscapes in combination with surrounding natural resources and historical remains arranged around the lake. This creates a layout of “one lake encircling two streams, two villages, and two farms,” comprising seven themed scenic zones: Qinglan Lake Scenic Area, Zhujialou Stream Wellness Valley Zone, Yuanyangtou Stream Play Area, Chouling International Longevity Wellness Resort, Wan Yao Village History and Tea Culture Zone, Yuanyang Grassland Scenic Area, and Qukeng Forest Farm. It is the only ecological leisure destination in Fujian Province themed around longevity and wellness.
