Qianshan Dawaiwu

Qianshan Dawaiwu is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Qianshan Dawaiwu is located in Qianshan Village, Chengjiao Township, Zherong County, dating back to the Qing Dynasty.

Description: Built during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1736–1795), it faces southwest and is oriented from northeast, consisting of three main building complexes on the left, middle, and right. It has a total width of 68.51 meters and a depth of 62.620 meters, covering an area of 4,290 square meters. The buildings on the left and right sides consist, from front to back, of an entrance hall, front courtyard and wing rooms, front hall, middle courtyard and wing rooms, middle hall, rear courtyard and wing rooms, and rear hall. The central section consists of the main house and left and right auxiliary rooms, with the main house comprising, from front to back, a gate tower, entrance hall, corridor, front hall, worship pavilion, entrance hall, corridor, rear hall, and fireproof room. Associated cultural relics include the “Huang Clan Branch Ancestral Hall” located to the left rear of the main complex and the “Huang Clan Ancestral Hall” on the right, covering a combined area of 1,132 square meters.

Protected area: A 20-meter buffer zone extends outward from the outer walls of the building on all sides.

In 2018, Qianshan Dawaiwu was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Qianshan Village: Introduction to Qianshan Village

Qianshan Village is located in the southwestern part of Zherong County, adjacent to the county seat. It covers a total land area of 1,239 mu, including 560 mu of arable land (530 mu of paddy fields and 30 mu of dry land) and 677 mu of forested land. The village has 360 households with a population of 1,205, and a floating population of 2,000. The main surnames are Huang and Lin. The per capita net income in 2011 was estimated at 7,140 yuan. The village party secretary is Lin Awei, the village director is Huang Hui, and the accountant is Lin Naixiang.
