Shanyang Chanyin Ancestral Hall is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Chanyin Ancestral Hall was first built in the fourth year of the Jingde era during the Song Dynasty (1007), and has been reconstructed through the years during the Yuanda era of the Yuan Dynasty, the second year of the Zhengtong era of the Ming Dynasty, and the second year of the Xianfeng era of the Qing Dynasty, spanning a history of over a thousand years. It is a cultural heritage site protected by the county. Although it underwent multiple renovations since 1982, lack of funding left the hall in disrepair. Early last year, the Yu family clan of Shanyang, led by Yu Lanshan, seized the momentum of reform and development, secured an investment of 1.5 million yuan, and carried out a comprehensive renovation of the ancestral hall. They rebuilt the Chanyin Ancestral Hall Cultural Museum, adding porcelain artifacts and calligraphy and paintings from the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. A hotel, conference hall, swimming pool, and PHS signal tower were constructed next to the hall. On the mountainside, a mounting block pavilion, viewing pavilion, and fountain were built, and a thousand stone steps were carved up to the Shiyi Mountain natural scenic area behind the hall. Road signs and promotional boards were also erected along the path from Shanyang Village to the Chanyin Ancestral Hall, while the area from the mounting block pavilion to the hall was illuminated with ornamental lighting. Additionally, clean water that meets mineral water standards was introduced, transforming 800 acres of abandoned upland fields that had lain fallow for over a decade into fertile farmland. Through land reclamation, a thousand acres of ecological forest on Shiyi Mountain were preserved. The fully restored Chanyin Ancestral Hall has attracted visitors from both within and outside the county.

With the stunning natural scenery of Shiyi Mountain and the profound cultural heritage of the Chanyin Ancestral Hall, the area’s tourism resources have been fully developed, making the Chanyin Ancestral Hall a remarkable highlight of our county.
