Lianzhu Ancestral Hall

Lianzhu Ancestral Hall is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Lianzhu Ancestral Hall is located in Sandong Village, Sandong Town, Gutian County, dating back to the Qing Dynasty.

Description: Built in the 22nd year of the Daoguang reign (1842) during the Qing Dynasty, it was erected to honor Lin Chengchang, a military commander in Taiwan who held an official seal during the Jiaqing era, and his son Lin Chaojin, an anti-British hero from the Daoguang period. The structure faces southeast and is positioned to the northwest. It includes a gate tower, central hall, main hall, and a private school on the right side, covering a total area of 1,906 square meters. The main hall features five bays in width and seven pillars in depth, with a combination of raised beam and through-tenon construction, and a flush-gable roof. The private school consists of a main gate, central hall, and Wenchang Pavilion.

In 2013, Lianzhu Ancestral Hall was designated as part of the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Protected area: Extends 20 meters outward in front of the hall, 10 meters at the rear, and 5 meters on both the left and right sides.

Sandong Village: Sandong Village is the largest administrative village in Sandong Town and also serves as the location of the Sandong Town government. It lies at the junction of Gutian, Pingnan, and Jiaocheng counties (cities), approximately 65 kilometers from downtown Gutian, at an elevation of 620 meters. Currently, the village has a population of 8,361, with 2,767 households and 50 villager groups. The cultivated land area spans 5,678 mu. It is one of the county’s reservoir resettlement villages and old revolutionary base villages, as well as a model site for convenient services in the town. The village currently has a two-committee team of nine members, including one female, and generates an annual collective income of 260,000 yuan.
