The former site of the 19th Regiment Headquarters of the Red 7th Army Corps is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the 19th Regiment Headquarters of the Red 7th Army Corps is located in a civilian house within the Butou Earth Fort in Shajiao Village, ChenDa Town, Meilie District.

In January 1934, during the advance from Mingxi to liberate Sha County, the Red Army’s Eastern Army sent a work team to Shajiao Village to conduct propaganda, raise grain and funds, and was stationed here. In May 1934, to crush the Nationalist Army’s fifth “encirclement and suppression,” the Red 7th Army Corps carried out mobile warfare in the northwestern Fujian Soviet Area, seeking opportunities to eliminate the enemy in support of the Central Soviet Area’s fifth counter-“encirclement and suppression” campaign. The 57th Regiment of the Red 7th Army Corps’ 19th Regiment moved from Mingxi through Ziyun Village to Shajiao Village and was stationed there. The 57th Regiment set up its headquarters in a civilian house within the Butou Earth Fort, where Regiment Commander Wang Yunrui and others lived and commanded battles. During their stay in Shajiao Village, the 57th Regiment mobilized the masses in Shajiao as well as in Liesi, Chengguan, Baisha, and Wengdun, gathering a large amount of combat supplies, which laid the foundation for the Red Army’s successful crossing of the Shaxi River and the elimination of two battalions of the enemy’s 80th Regiment.

The former site of the 19th Regiment Headquarters of the Red 7th Army Corps was built in the late Qing Dynasty, facing west with its back to the east, and covers a total area of 180 square meters. The structure is rectangular in shape, with a total width of 12 meters and a depth of 10 meters. It is flanked by residential houses, and in front of the building lies an ancient official road that leads through Xiaojiao to Liesi. The site is currently well preserved.
