Yunchang Pavilion

Yunchang Pavilion is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit, a classic red tourism destination, and a patriotic education base.

Constructed during the Dali period of the Tang Dynasty, Yunchang Pavilion is a typical ancient southern Chinese pavilion. It combines majestic mountains, pristine waters, ancient trees, bridges, and pavilions, embodying the distinct characteristics of Chinese garden architecture. It is one of the famous Eight Scenic Spots of Tingzhou, known as “Yunchang Moonlit Breeze.” In March 1929, it housed the offices of the Changting County Revolutionary Committee, the first county-level red political power established by Mao Zedong in the Central Soviet Area. In 1988, it was designated as part of the third group of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Tingzhou Town: Located in western Fujian Province on the upper reaches of the Ting River at the southern edge of the Wuyi Mountains, Tingzhou Town is the seat of the Changting County People's Government. Covering an area of 10.6 square kilometers, it has nine neighborhood committees and a population of 62,600. Since the Tang Dynasty, it has been the site of various administrative divisions including prefectures, counties, and circuits, serving as the ancestral home of the Hakka people. A historic city known for its handicrafts, Tingzhou has long been the political, economic, and cultural hub of western Fujian.
