The Temple of Confucius in Tingzhou Prefecture is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

A provincial-level cultural heritage site. The Temple of Confucius in Tingzhou Prefecture was built in the third year of the Shaoxing era during the Song Dynasty (1133 AD), covering an area of 1,550 square meters. The Dacheng Hall is three bays wide and three bays deep, featuring a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof, post-and-lintel construction, a dragon-phoenix caisson ceiling in the central bay, a coffered ceiling in the side bays, and an orange-yellow glazed tile roof, with the floor paved with square blue bricks.

Confucius (551–479 BC), whose given name was Qiu and courtesy name Zhongni, was a native of Zouyi (present-day southeastern Qufu, Shandong), Changping District, the State of Lu. He was a philosopher, educator, and statesman in the late Spring and Autumn period, the founder of Confucianism, and one of the most influential figures in Chinese history and culture. His impact extends globally, especially across Southeast Asia, making him one of the world’s cultural icons.
