Soil and Water Conservation Science Education Park

Location: Near National Highway 319, Longyan City, Fujian Province

Introduction:

The science education park is located in the Luodi River small watershed of Hetian Town, Changting County, adjacent to National Highway 319, offering convenient transportation. It mainly includes the following five functional areas: a central area of 20 hectares, a public servants' zone of 20 hectares, an experimental area of 20 hectares, a soil and water conservation species area of 40 hectares, and a control area of 20 hectares.

Science education activities mainly include the following: collaborating with research institutions to provide sites and services for soil and water conservation research; integrating with publicity and education to offer social practice venues for soil and water conservation awareness, especially targeting primary and secondary school students; combining with comprehensive management of soil erosion to demonstrate practical techniques and showcase high-quality tree and grass species for soil conservation; and engaging in international soil and water conservation technology exchanges. The park has become an important base for local collaboration and exchange on soil conservation, also hosting visits from leaders at all levels, experts, scholars, and soil conservation technicians from other counties and cities, serving as a window for external exchanges in this field.

Science education highlights: Large scale, high scientific research value, comprehensive and rich exhibition content, diverse educational formats.

The Changting County Soil and Water Conservation Science Education Park is managed on behalf of the Changting County Soil and Water Conservation Station. A certain amount of funding from provincial and municipal governance allocations is designated for the construction and management of the park, with dedicated personnel responsible for receiving and organizing social practice activities related to soil and water conservation education for primary and secondary schools.

Visitor notice: Reception hours are 8:00–12:00 AM and 2:30–5:00 PM.
