The former site of the meeting of the Provisional Provincial Committee of the CPC Fujian against the fourth “encirclement campaign” is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province, a classic red tourism destination, and a patriotic education base.

The former site of the meeting of the Provisional Provincial Committee of the CPC Fujian against the fourth “encirclement campaign” is located in the Mahavira Hall of Chaodouyan Temple on Nanping Mountain on the outskirts of Changting County, Longyan City, Fujian Province.

On February 18, 1932, the Provisional Provincial Committee of the CPC Fujian held an emergency meeting in Changting regarding the fourth anti-“encirclement campaign,” during which the “Resolution on Implementing the Central Bureau’s ‘Urgent Tasks of the Party Before the Decisive Battle to Crush the Enemy’s Fourth Encirclement Campaign’” was adopted. The resolution required fully mobilizing the masses, expanding the Red Army, carrying out armed struggle, actively cooperating with the Central Red Army, and striving to achieve an overall victory in the fourth anti-“encirclement campaign.”

The Mahavira Hall of Chaodouyan Temple on Nanping Mountain was originally built during the Ming Dynasty, rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty, and renovated in 1986. It faces south and consists of a mountain gate, open courtyard, main hall, and side rooms, covering a total area of 260 square meters.

The former site of the meeting of the Provisional Provincial Committee of the CPC Fujian against the fourth “encirclement campaign” was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province by the People’s Government of Fujian Province in May 1961.
