Xinyuxia Residential House

Xinyuxia Residential House is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Xinyuxia Residential House is located in Sanzhou Village, Sanzhou Town, Changting County, Longyan City. It was built in the eighth year of the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty (1513). Covering an area of 715 square meters, it features a brick-and-wood structure in a three-courtyard, two-entry layout. The complex consists of a gate tower, rain courtyard, main gate, upper, middle and lower halls, courtyards, rear building, and two rows of wing rooms. The main hall is three bays wide and eight pillars deep, with a rolled-canopy front corridor, a single-eave hanging gable roof, and a post-and-lintel wooden frame. The wood carvings are exquisitely crafted, and the lintel is inscribed with the characters “绪缵谈经” (meaning “continuing the study of classics”). It was designated as a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian in 2009.

Sanzhou Village: Sanzhou Village is located 34 kilometers south of Changting County and 8 kilometers from the Hetian exit of the Longyan–Changting Expressway. It is the seat of the Sanzhou Town government and the core village of the town’s 10,000-mu bayberry production base.

The village covers a total land area of 10,443 mu, including 2,704 mu of arable land and 7,739 mu of forested land. Sanzhou has a typical subtropical monsoon climate. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, the area has low elevation, ranging between 240 and 560 meters, and features a basin-like terrain. Most of the hills consist of low, gently sloping landforms with acidic red soil, while the arable land is primarily sandy loam.
