The former site of Xiamen University in Tingzhou is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

The former site of Xiamen University in Tingzhou is located on Donghou Lane, Tingzhou Town, Changting County. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, Xiamen University relocated to Tingzhou and remained there for eight years. The university’s main campus was housed in the Dacheng Hall of the county Confucian Temple. The hall faces south and features three bays in both width and depth, with a rolled-canopy front porch, a post-and-lintel beam frame, and a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof. The central bay of the main hall houses a square caisson ceiling, decorated around the edges..., while the side bays feature colorful painted ceilings with double dragons.

Tingzhou Town: Tingzhou Town in Changting County is located in western Fujian, along the upper reaches of the Ting River at the southern edge of the Wuyi Mountains. It serves as the seat of the county government. The town covers an area of 10.6 square kilometers and includes nine neighborhood committees, with a population of 62,600. Since the Tang Dynasty, it has been the site of prefectures, states, routes, and provincial-level administrative centers, and is considered the ancestral homeland of the Hakka people. It is a historic city renowned for its handicrafts and serves as the political, economic, and cultural center of western Fujian.
