The Former Site of the Red House District Soviet Government — Nine Halls and Eighteen Courtyards is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The Former Site of the Red House District Soviet Government — Nine Halls and Eighteen Courtyards is located in Zhongfu Village, Nanshan Town, Changting County, dating back to 1932.

Description: Constructed during the Qing Dynasty, it faces west with an east orientation, features a brick-and-wood structure, single-eave hanging gable roof, and a mixed post-and-lintel and through-tenon wooden framework. The layout consists of three sections and two courtyards, composed of an entrance hall, inner rain courtyard, upper, middle, and lower halls, sky wells, and left and right wing rooms. It covers an area of 731.6 square meters, with a built-up area of approximately 661 square meters. Locally known as "Nine Halls and Eighteen Courtyards," in the summer of 1932, the Red House District Soviet Government was established here, with Wu Wenbiao as its chairman. The establishment of the district soviet played a significant role in leading the revolutionary struggle in the Red House District. Ten anti-Japanese cartoons are preserved on the walls of the main hall.

In 2018, the Former Site of the Red House District Soviet Government — Nine Halls and Eighteen Courtyards was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Protected Area: An extension of 20 meters outward from all sides of the building.

Zhongfu Village: Zhongfu Village serves as the southern gateway to Changting, a national historical and cultural city. It lies 42 kilometers from downtown Changting and 7 kilometers from Nanshan Town Government. Originally named Zhongwu, the village has a history of nearly a thousand years since its founding in the Tang Dynasty. Currently home to the Zhong and Zheng families, it has 906 households, over 3,400 residents, and covers an area of about 12 square kilometers. Around 90% of the population are surnamed Zhong, with founding ancestor Guan Shou Gong; his son, Sheng Sheng Gong, served as the prefectural governor of Tingzhou.
