The Former Site of the Pharmaceutical Factory of the Rear General Hospital of the Fujian Military Region – Changsen Ancestral Hall is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The Former Site of the Pharmaceutical Factory of the Rear General Hospital of the Fujian Military Region – Changsen Ancestral Hall is located in Yuxi Village, Sidu Town, Changting County, dating back to 1933.

Description: Built during the Qing Dynasty, it faces southeast and is situated northwest, featuring a two-courtyard, three-section layout with a timber and earth structure. It consists of a front hall, enclosed front rooms, an inner rain courtyard, upper, middle, and lower halls, two skywells, and one row of wing rooms on each side, covering an area of over 1,000 square meters with a built-up area of approximately 760 square meters. In February 1933, the Pharmaceutical Factory of the Rear General Hospital of the Fujian Military Region was established here. Utilizing the region’s abundant traditional Chinese medicinal resources, the factory produced a large quantity of medicines to supply Red Army hospitals and local residents, making significant contributions to the healthcare system of the Soviet Area.

In 2018, the Former Site of the Pharmaceutical Factory of the Rear General Hospital of the Fujian Military Region – Changsen Ancestral Hall was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Protected Area: An extension of 20 meters outward from all sides of the building.

Yuxi Village: Yuxi Village in Sidu Town is a revolutionary base area. Nestled against mountains and near water, it is located in the northern part of the town, 3 kilometers from Sidu Township and 33 kilometers from Changting County. The village has 264 households, a population of 1,178, and comprises 8 villager groups. The village Party branch has 51 members. The village covers 930 mu of arable land and 24,900 mu of forest land, with a forest coverage rate of 92%.
