China Tiger Park

Located in Buyun Township, Shanghang County, on the edge of the Meihua Mountain Nature Reserve, the park sits on Chapan Cave Mountain at an altitude of 1,250 meters. It covers an area of 4,794 mu, with a buffer zone of 2,522 mu. Established in August 2000 by the Longyan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government with substantial investment, this park was the first nationwide project in China aimed at saving the South China tiger. The park focuses on the artificial breeding, semi-wild, and wild training of South China tigers, as well as research in conservation biology and genetics. Built upon its forest landscape, it serves as a multifunctional forest wildlife park integrating scientific research, science education, eco-tourism, and adventure. The park currently features “Five Zones, One Mountain, One Hall, One Pool, and One Forest Bathing Area”: namely, the South China Tiger Semi-Wild Breeding and Rearing Zone, Rare Birds Zone, Sika Deer Zone, Macaque Zone, Forest Plant Zone, Jianfengding Peak, Renhe Hall, Tiansu Pool, and Forest Bathing Area.
