Zijin Geological and Mineral Museum

The Zijin Geological and Mineral Museum serves as a science education base.

The Zijin Geological and Mineral Museum is located on the Second Ring Road in Shanghang County, Longyan City, Fujian Province, to the west of the headquarters of Zijin Mining Group and within the campus area of the Shanghang Teaching Base of Zijin Mining Institute.

The museum is an independent four-story frame structure building covering a land area of 1,634 m². The exhibition space spans three floors with a total display area of 2,866 m², including a foyer, four exhibition halls, a 3D cinema, a temporary exhibition hall, an atrium, as well as corridors in the atrium, main stairwells, storage rooms, and office areas. The museum displays a large number of geological and mineral models, landscapes, as well as specimens of minerals, rocks, ores, and fossils. It also utilizes digital, biomimetic, virtual reality, and other audiovisual technologies to allow visitors to personally experience the importance of the rational development and utilization of geomineral resources and environmental protection. At the same time, visitors can also learn more about the formation conditions of typical gold mines and the unique processes of gold mining and production.

In August 2011, the Zijin Geological and Mineral Museum was designated as one of the second batch of National Land and Resources Science Education Bases. It is currently one of the largest, most comprehensive, and most modern geological museums established by enterprises in China.
