HuiLong Tianhou Temple

HuiLong Tianhou Temple is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

HuiLong Tianhou Temple is located in Jiuda Village, Guanzhuang She Ethnic Township, Shanghang County. Constructed in the third year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1738) and renovated during the Xianfeng era (1831–1861), it faces northeast and sits southwest, adjacent to the Ting River. The complex includes a gate tower, front hall, and main hall, covering an area of about 1,000 square meters. The stone gate tower has an eight-pillar, seven-bay, memorial archway-style façade, with a horizontal stone plaque inscribed “Puli Ji” (Benefiting All) above the entrance and a vertical stone plaque reading “Tianhou Temple.” The front hall is three bays wide and two bays deep, featuring a post-and-lintel roof structure; the main hall is three bays wide and three bays deep, with a front porch under a rolled shed roof, and uses both through-tenon and post-and-lintel construction, with a caisson ceiling in the central bay. Both the front hall and the main hall have flush-gable roofs.

Guanzhuang She Ethnic Township: Located at the northwestern tip of Shanghang County, Guanzhuang is where the borders of Changting, Shanghang, and Wuping counties meet. It is one of only two ethnic minority townships in western Fujian. To the north, it borders Yanggu Township of Xuan Cheng in Changting County; to the west, it connects with Taoxi Township in Wuping County; to the east, it neighbors Caixi Town and Tongxian Township in Shanghang County; and to the south, it lies against the hills and waters of Shanhu Township. Covering an area of 123 square kilometers, it serves as a hub at the junction of the three counties and a center for goods distribution, and is one of the four major market towns in Shanghang County. It is 58 kilometers from the county seat and 123 kilometers from downtown Longyan.
