Bisha Tin Hau Temple

Bisha Tin Hau Temple is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Bisha Tin Hau Temple is located in Bisha Village, Baisha Town, Shanghang County. It was built in the eighth year of the Yongzheng reign during the Qing Dynasty (1730) and renovated in the eighth year of the Qianlong reign (1743). The temple faces southeast and is situated northwest, featuring a two-story, earthen-and-timber structured pavilion-style building covering an area of 500 square meters. The main structure has two stories and is 10 meters high, with a post-and-lintel beam frame, a hip-and-gable roof, and rammed earth walls. The stone gate lintel is inscribed in intaglio with the characters “Stone Railings as a Guardian.” The first floor has four bays, while the second floor features five bays in width and four bays in depth, with corridors along all sides.

Bisha Village: Bisha Village is located at the source of the Jiulongxi (Nine-Bend) Stream. The village administers two revolutionary base villages: Bisha Pit and Daluxia, comprising a total of five villager groups with a population of 142 households and 573 people. The village covers a total land area of 13,720 mu, including 11,800 mu of forested land, 4,000 mu of bamboo forests, and 420 mu of arable land, with a forest coverage rate of 86%.

The area enjoys an average annual temperature of 18.5°C, an average annual rainfall of 1,780 mm, and a frost-free period of about 270 days.
