Former Residence of Chen Pixian

The former residence of Chen Pixian is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The former residence of Chen Pixian is located in Guanyu Village, Nanyang Town, Shanghang County. Also known as "Weisan Hall," it was originally built in 1892 and renovated in 2007. The building faces east and has its main gate facing south. It consists of a rain courtyard, lower hall, upper hall, wing rooms, and left and right side chambers, covering a total area of 1,100 square meters. The main hall is three bays wide and seven pillars deep, with a post-and-lintel beam structure and a flush-gable roof. Chen Pixian (1916–1995) was a proletarian revolutionary, served as a member of the Secretariat of the 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and was the Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 6th National People's Congress.

Guanyu Village: Located in the northwest of Nanyang Town, Guanyu Village is 3.5 kilometers from the town government center. The village covers a total area of 15 square kilometers and includes 5 natural villages. It currently has 342 households, a population of 1,502, and 34 party members, including 5 female party members, 8 party members aged over 60, 20 aged over 36, 6 aged under 35, and 12 with high school education or above. The village has 802 mu of arable land and over 8,300 mu of forested land. The villagers are hardworking and simple, with a rustic and honest folk culture.
