Lufeng Lan Family Ancestral Hall

The Lufeng Lan Family Ancestral Hall is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The Lufeng Lan Family Ancestral Hall is located in Qingtouping Natural Village, Fengji Village, Lufeng She Ethnic Township, Shanghang County, and dates back to the Qing Dynasty.

Description: Also known as Dongshan Ancestral Hall, it was built during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1736–1795), facing northwest and situated southeast, covering an area of 2,968 square meters with a construction area of 959 square meters. It comprises the main hall, east wing rooms, west wing rooms, gate, threshing floor, and embryo mound. The central axis from northwest to southeast includes the gate tower, lower hall, courtyard with corridors on both sides, and upper hall. The four-pillar, three-bay, five-story stone memorial archway features the engraved characters “En Rong” (Imperial Favor) in the center, with “Lan Family Ancestral Hall” inscribed below. A pair of stone lions and a pair of stone drums are placed on either side of the main gate. The upper hall is five bays wide and four pillars deep, with a raised-beam wooden structure featuring a front corridor and rear chamber, a gable-and-hip roof, and a three-part openwork roof ridge. A crescent-shaped embryo mound is built at the back of the hall.

Protected area: An additional 20 meters outward from all sides of the building.

In 2018, the Lufeng Lan Family Ancestral Hall was announced by the People’s Government of Fujian Province as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units.

Fengji Village: Fengji Village is located in the southeastern part of Lufeng She Ethnic Township, adjacent to the township market, with the Shangzhong Highway running through the entire area, offering extremely convenient transportation and communication. The village currently administers 20 villager groups, with 740 households and a population of 3,190, including 2,790 people of She ethnicity, 104 rural Party members, and two community centers for the elderly. The village has 1,679 mu of arable land and 22,340 mu of forested land, making it a large administrative village with a sizable population and broad territory. Its main industries include flue-cured tobacco, hogs, and bamboo.
