The former site of the Gaozhai Pit Red Transport Station is a cultural relic protection unit of Shanghang County and a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Gaozhai Pit Red Transport Station is located in Gaozhai Pit Natural Village, Dangfeng Village, Xikou Town. Originally built during the Qing Dynasty, it was once a paper workshop used by villagers surnamed Luo to produce handmade paper. Oriented from northwest to southwest and built along the mountain slope, it is a single-story structure with two rooms made of earth and wood, covering an area of about 100 square meters. From January 1931 to March 1933, the Red Transport Station of the Central Soviet Area was located here and was publicly known as the “Western Fujian Workers’ and Peasants’ Communication Agency.”
