Hua Family Hua Clan Yinshan Ancestral Hall

The Hua Family Hua Clan Yinshan Ancestral Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Shanghang County.

The Hua Family Hua Clan Yinshan Ancestral Hall is located in Aobei, Hua Family Village, Jiaoyang Town. It is the ancestral temple of Hua Yan, a renowned painter of the Qing Dynasty. Originally built in the second year of the Jianwen era of the Ming Dynasty (1400), it was destroyed in the late Ming period, rebuilt during the Shunzhi era of the Qing Dynasty (1644–1661), and renovated again during the Kangxi era (1662–1722) as well as in 1998. The original walls of the upper hall featured murals painted by Hua Yan, which were later destroyed. The ancestral hall faces southwest and is situated to the northeast, covering an area of approximately 150 square meters. It consists of a main gate, front hall, and main hall. The main hall features a post-and-lintel wooden structure, a stone-tiled roof, six interior columns in depth, and five bays in width.

Extending 20 meters eastward to the lawn, 20 meters southward, 10 meters westward to the eastern edge of the village road, and 1 meter northward to the southern side of Jiashan Ancestral Hall.

Hua Family Village: Hua Family Village is located in the southwestern part of Jiaoyang Town, about 10 kilometers from the Jiaoyang Town government. Provincial Highway 308 runs through the village. The village covers an area of 16.8 square kilometers, with 2,427 mu of arable land and 16,757 mu of forested land. It currently has two natural villages, 19 villager groups, 483 households, and a population of over 1,900. Among them, the Daping natural village has over 50 households of the Lei family and around 200 residents. The average elevation of the village is 680 meters, with an average temperature of 18 degrees Celsius, placing it in the high-altitude cold zone of western Fujian.
