Chairman Mao Memorial Park is located to the northeast of the site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China. In the park stands a white marble statue of Chairman Mao. The statue was made in 1969 and erected in 2009. It is 7.1 meters tall, symbolizing July 1st, the birthday of the Communist Party. The base is 3 meters high, making the total height 10.1 meters. There is a distance of 1.949 meters to the first rest platform, symbolizing October 1st, 1949, the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The base is an octagon, symbolizing the octagonal hats worn by Red Army soldiers. Around the base are inscribed Chairman Mao’s poems written in his distinctive calligraphy style from different periods. The entire design of the Chairman Mao Park signifies national prosperity and the well-being of the people.

The area is lush with pines and bamboos, surrounded by mountains, and offers a wide, open view. To the left of the Chairman Park, the mountain rises majestically, while to the right, the hills roll gently. Surrounded by mountains and water, the site gathers the spirit of nature and the essence of the sun, moon, and stars, highlighting the grandeur and commanding presence of the great leader.

Made in 1969 and erected on June 6, 2009. The statue is 7.1 meters tall, symbolizing July 1st, the birthday of the Communist Party. The entire platform of the statue ingeniously reflects the life of the great leader and the history of the Chinese revolution. The base of the statue is an octagon, symbolizing the octagonal hats of the Red Army, with each side measuring 4.1 meters, representing the 41 years of Chairman Mao’s leadership from the Zunyi Conference in January 1935 to his passing in September 1976.

Around the base are inscribed Chairman Mao’s poems such as “Snow” (“Qin Yuan Chun · Xue”), “The Song of the Jiang-Gui War” (“Qing Ping Yue · Jiang Gui Zhan Zheng”), and “To the Tune of Cai Sang Zi – Double Ninth” (“Cai Sang Zi · Chong Yang”) in his distinctive calligraphy style. These reflect the leader’s diverse ideological insights and optimistic revolutionary spirit during China’s revolutionary journey. The base is 3 meters tall, plus the 7.1-meter statue, totaling 10.1 meters. The width of the first platform is 194.9 centimeters, symbolizing October 1st, 1949, when Chairman Mao proclaimed the founding of the Central People’s Government of the People’s Republic of China from the Tiananmen Rostrum to the world. The diagonal of the octagon is 9.9 meters, and the third platform is 19.76 meters wide, symbolizing September 9th, 1976, the day Chairman Mao passed away.
