The film and television city starts from Hongwu Avenue, stretching approximately 2,600 meters in total. It encompasses over 1,000 years of history from China’s Tang Dynasty to the present, including replicas of historically famous structures such as the Qianqing Palace, Daming Palace, and Epang Palace. For this reason, it has been named the “Chinese Millennium Avenue.” The Chuzhou Film and Television City is located within Meipu Village, Yaopu Town, and upon completion, it will serve as both a film shooting base and a cultural tourism destination. It is understood that the Qianqing Palace being built in the Chuzhou Yaopu film city is constructed at a 1:1 scale and will be grand in scale, not inferior to the Hengdian World Studios in Zhejiang. While Hengdian mainly rents out locations and also offers tourism and ancient palace experiences, the Chuzhou Film and Television City is more comprehensive in nature.

The Huizhou-style architecture in the Chuzhou Film Base extensively utilizes brick, wood, and stone carvings, showcasing a high level of decorative artistry. Brick carvings are mostly embedded in door hoods, window lintels, and screen walls, featuring vivid and lifelike figures, insects and fish, flowers and birds, as well as eight treasures, antique motifs, and geometric patterns, all highly decorative. Adjacent to water and harmoniously interspersed with pavilions, terraces, towers, and archways, they create the picturesque scene of “small bridges, flowing water, and rustic homes.” The Ming and Qing Huizhou architectural complexes, situated amid the scenic mountains and rivers of southern Anhui and western Zhejiang, have come to represent Jiangnan garden design. Owing to the widespread commercial activities of the Huizhou merchants, this architectural style has also exerted a certain influence on Chuzhou.
