Zhangguang Hexi Site

The Zhangguang Hexi Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Chuzhou City.

The Hexi Site is located on the streets of Zhangguang Town, Nanqiao District, Chuzhou City. Dating from the Neolithic to the Western Zhou period, it is classified as an ancient site, covering an area of square meters. It is among the fourth batch of cultural heritage protection units in Chuzhou City, with the announcement document number Chuzheng [2012] No. 44.

Protected Area: 100 meters around the site.

Construction Control Zone: 50 meters beyond the protected area.

Location: Zhangguang Town is situated in the western frontier of Nanqiao District, Chuzhou City. It borders Feidong, Quanjiao, and Dingyuan counties, and neighbors Shiji Town and Daliu Town of Nanqiao District, as well as Daishan, Outang, and Jiepai of Dingyuan County, Gucheng of Feidong County, Xiwang and Shipei of Quanjiao County, making it a renowned hub for agricultural and sideline products at the intersection of four counties. Historically, it has been praised as “where the crowing of a rooster can be heard across four counties.” The famous Jianghuai Watershed Ridge winds east-west through the town.
