Longshan Scenic Area

Longshan Temple (Baogong An) is located 35 kilometers west of Quanjiao County, on the western foothills of Longshan Mountain, within Guanba. It is just two kilometers from the Daye interchange along the Hening Expressway to reach the temple. Nestled among overlapping peaks, lush forests, and stunning landscapes, the ancient temple features verdant pines, emerald bamboo, towering dark green trees, serene rocky caves, waterfalls cascading down thousands of peaks, and babbling brooks flowing over small bridges — all year round. The climate here is pleasant, warm in winter and cool in summer. The temple complex includes elegant halls, pavilions, towers, and ancient bells that chime softly — making it a timeless destination. Attractions include Yingjia Bridge, Jishan Bridge, the Release Pond, Baogong Pavilion, One-Line Sky, stone forest, pagoda forest, Waist-Supporting Rock, Immortal’s Cave, Dragon Cave, Dragon Well, Sunset Glow, Mother-and-Son Sandalwood Trees, Hundred-Son Sandalwood Trees, Turtle-Carrying Sister Trees, Twin Trees, Five-Dragon Palace, and Beauty Mountain — a total of thirty-six scenic spots that complement each other harmoniously. The natural beauty is especially captivating at the main peak, Niangniangding, where you can gaze afar at the Yangtze River stretching like a ribbon, with picturesque temples blending seamlessly into the landscape. Being there feels like stepping into a fairyland. As an ancient poem goes: “Deep in the forest, no familiar path; ancient trees, their age unknown. Waterfalls scatter snow on a thousand peaks; cliffs reveal one-line skies.” The Ming Dynasty poet Liu Yu wrote: “I love this towering, lush green Western Mountain; my horse often pauses here. If only I could borrow the strength of the Foolish Old Man, I’d move this southern window scene to be my painting screen.” The Qing Dynasty poet Wu Guojì also penned: “Deep in the forest, no familiar path; ancient trees, their age unknown. Longshan Village: Overview

The current Longshan Village was formed in April 2008 through the merger of the former Longshan Village and Hezuo Village during a village-level administrative adjustment. It consists of 27 villager groups, with a total population of 4,128 and arable land covering 7,482 mu. The village now has one Party general branch, four Party branches, 20 Party groups, and a total of 151 Party members. Longshan Village borders Dashu to the south and Machang to the east, covering a total area of approximately 25 square kilometers.
