Shen Shan Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

Shen Shan Temple, the main attraction of Shen Shan Forest Park, has a history of over 1,200 years. It attracts a constant flow of visitors and is a renowned place of worship.

The Shen Shan Temple Fair is a beloved traditional event among the people of Quanjiao, dating back thousands of years. According to Buddhist texts, the 19th day of the second lunar month marks the birthday of Guanyin Bodhisattva. After the temple was completed, the monks held a grand consecration ceremony on this day in hopes of ensuring the temple's enduring prosperity and flourishing incense offerings. Thus, every year on this date, people from nearby villages flock to Shen Shan Temple to burn incense and pray. Over time, the 19th day of the second lunar month became established as the annual date for the Shen Shan Temple Fair, a tradition that continues to this day.

After centuries of inheritance and development, the Shen Shan Temple Fair has evolved into a vibrant cultural event that combines religious ceremonies, market trade, and recreational activities. It features a rich array of content and holds significant folk value. Each year, it draws worshippers and tourists from the Hefei and Nanjing metropolitan areas, as well as from the Yangtze River Delta region, all coming to pray for blessings. Even though the weather remains cool around the time of the fair, devotees, visitors, and merchants from far and wide come in droves, with attendance reaching several hundred thousand annually. During the fair, the roads leading to Shen Shan Temple are bustling with traffic and crowds, and shops along the way enjoy booming business. The main activities at the Shen Shan Temple Fair include worshippers burning incense and praying, making wishes or fulfilling vows; various vendors gathering to trade goods; and many visitors hiking up the mountain to enjoy the scenic views...
